Nails Arts in Ancient Times

Nails art is a kind of art that is very popular recently. As the name suggests, it’s an art which is applied on both fingernails and toenails. Women who like fashion usually like to apply nail arts on their fingernails or toenails. Beauty salons are places where they can paint their nails with a wide range of designs.

Different Country Different Nails Arts Design

Each country has its own design of nails art. Seen from its history, it weren’t female who applied nail arts but males in ancient Babylonia who utilized it to color their nails. They used kohl to dye their nails. There were two different types of colors utilized at that time. First, males from high social status utilized black while those from lower social status utilized green.

Different from Babylonia, ancient Egyptian women utilized nails art. The purpose was the same as males from Babylonia that was to show social status. If Babylonia males utilized kohl to dye their nails, ancient Egyptian females utilized the juice of henna plant. As the purpose was to show social status, the queens from ancient Egyptian, for instance Queen Nefertiti, utilized red color to dye both her fingernails and toenails and if the queens had already utilized certain colors to dye their nails, women from lower social status couldn’t utilized the same colors as them.

Techniques Used to Apply Nails Art

Commonly, manicurists all around the world utilize the same technique to apply nail arts. The techniques are started as the techniques used for the manicure or pedicure. There are three techniques you can try for nail arts. First, you can mix the monomer liquid and polymer powder to be applied directly on your fingernails or toenails. The mixture between those two substances is called acrylics.

Second, you can use nail gel which is almost the same as acrylics but it’s utilized the gel. Nail gel is dried under a UV or LED light. Third, you can utilize nail polish or nail varnish as a base color or you can use it to color your nails.
